Curtains and shutters on a bay window?

A lot of customers ask about keeping their curtains as well as having shutters in a bay.

If the curtains are fitted in such a way they won’t stop the shutters from opening then yes you can keep the curtains, but most customers don’t.

Part of the charm of having window shutters is the simplicity they provide. Curtains normally hang down and cover the side recess of your bay, and a lot of curtains cover a good portion of the glass area and restrict a lot of light.

They can hang down over the window sill to the floor covering the radiator and limiting the heat you get from it.

By removing the curtains you will really open up the bay and get a lot more light and space in your room.
